Morning person vs. night person

Are you an early bird 🐦 or a night owl πŸ¦‰? While both can be great, being a morning person has many more benefits! 🌟

First of all, waking up early gives you more time to get things done πŸ“ and start your day off right.

You can enjoy your coffee β˜•οΈ in peace, exercise πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ, or even get some work done before the rest of the world wakes up.

Plus, studies have shown that morning people tend to be more productive and successful in their careers πŸŽ“.

But it’s not just about productivity! Being a morning person can also improve your overall health and happiness 😊.

You’re more likely to establish a regular sleep schedule, which can lead to better sleep quality 😴.

How to turn into a morning person? 10 tips and tricks to become one

Waking up early in the morning can be a daunting task, especially if you are a night person. But don’t worry, becoming a morning person is not impossible!

Here are some tips and tricks to help you become a morning person from a night owl.

πŸŒ… 1. Establish a consistent sleep routine:

Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, even on weekends. This will help regulate your body’s internal clock and make it easier to wake up in the morning.

Keep in mind that this routine may take you a couple of weeks to get used to, but it’s worth it!

β˜• 2. Limit caffeine intake:

Hold your horses, caffeine addicts! You might wanna hear this one. You know that fresh pot of coffee that’s calling your name each morning?

Yeah, well, turns out if you chug it down on an empty stomach, it could send your anxiety levels sky-high.

That’s because coffee triggers the stress hormone, cortisol. So, here’s a tasty tip: have your breakfast first and after about an hour, when your tummy is happy and content, then drink your much needed dose of caffeine.

Trust me, it’ll be worth the wait!

Also avoid consuming caffeine in the afternoon and evening, as it can disrupt your sleep and make it harder to wake up in the morning.

πŸ“± 3. Avoid screens before bed:

The blue light emitted by electronic devices can interfere with your sleep. Try to avoid using them for at least an hour before bedtime. I would also recommend you the red light therapy:

  • Sunset lamp:

Want to score some quality ZZZs? Look no further than the sunset lamp! (Amazon) This little guy bathes your room in a warm, cozy glow, triggering your melatonin production and lulling you into dreamland in no time.

Meanwhile, those pesky blue lights from your gadgets are like a pep rally for your brain and keep you up all night. So, ditch the electronics and cozy up to the sunset lamp for a peaceful slumber.

πŸ“ 4. Write a to-do list for the next day:

This can help you feel more organized and motivated to get up and start your day. I also like to add timestamps to my to-do list so it is more organized and makes me more productive the following day.

🚰 5. Drink water along the day to feel refreshed and energized:

It helps in flushing out toxins from the body, aids in digestion, and keeps our skin looking fresh and healthy.

Dehydration can lead to headaches, fatigue, and decreased mental clarity, so it is important to drink water regularly throughout the day.

Drinking water also improves your mood and increases your energy levels. So, make sure to prioritize drinking water and stay hydrated throughout the day!

🌞 6. Let in natural light:

Open your blinds or curtains in the morning to let natural light into your room. This can help regulate your body’s circadian rhythm and make it easier to wake up.

πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ 7. Exercise in the morning:

Even a quick workout can boost your energy levels and help you feel more active throughout the day.

Believe me 15 minutes of intense exercise followed by a quick shower will make you feel like you’re flying in your mornings.

Don’t worry if it takes some time to get used to it, it’s totally normal!!!

🍳 8. Eat a healthy breakfast:

Fueling your body with a nutritious breakfast can help you feel more awake and ready to tackle the day.

My daily breakfast consists of scrambled eggs with turkey, a piece of fruit (whatever I feel like each morning) and if I need some chocolate, I take an ounce of chocolate containing 85% cocoa.

This is very important because it has a very low sugar content and helps me to regulate the glucose peaks at the beginning of the day (my favorite is Lindt brand).

πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ 9. Practice mindfulness or meditation:

Starting your day with a few minutes of mindfulness or meditation can help you feel more calm and centered.

If you are a beginner, look for 5-minute guided meditations, they are really effective and take very little time.

πŸ’€ 10. Don’t hit snooze:

As tempting as it may be, hitting snooze can actually make it harder to wake up in the long run. Instead, try to get up at the same time every day and establish a consistent routine.

Becoming a morning person takes time and effort, but with these tips and tricks, you’ll be well on your way to starting your day off right! 😊

Keep it consistent, you got this honey!! 🌸🀍
